Grasslands Wildfire; Stages of recovery after large scale prairie fires. In the spring of 2013 a large fire swept through the Frenchman River valley, burning nearly a third of the West Block. A landscape scale fire of this magnitude has not occurred on this prairie ecosystem for well over 100 years. This provides a rare and unique opportunity to photo-document the changes that occur and the benefits that accrue from this event.
